Hot Off The Press: Volleyball guys, Volleyball girls, Softball guys, Rugby, Floorball girls, Badminton guys, Harmonica, Tennis
April 25th, 2011 by CCA PROIt was an exciting Monday with many competitions taking place all around town. Let’s take a look at the results for today:
Volleyball
Today, the guys met AJC early in the morning for the first match of their quarter finals. They lost 29-31 in a closely fought first set, and 17-25 in the second set. There are still 2 more quarters this week for you guys to show that fighting spirit, and that magic we know you can bring on court. Jiayou.
Following the guys match, the girls played PJC and with much support from their guy counterparts, won 25-8, 25-11! Congratulations:)
Softball guys
The softballers trashed NJC, 11-1 today! Congratulations, and jiayou:)
Rugby
The team met MI this afternoon, and having suffered defeats in the past couple of matches, it seemed that we had a chance at the beginning when we led strongly with a score of 6-0. Unfortunately, we lost this precious lead and eventually lost 6-10. Don’t let this get you down, guys.
Floorball girls
In the opening match of the season, the floorball girls met heavyweights VJC, and lost 4-8. This is a good comeback for the girls, who lost by a scoreline of 1-8 against the same school last year, and threw off their opponents who were expecting an easy game. We believe that you girls will show strong performances in the next few matches of the group stages, so keep pressing on.
Badminton guys
Also in the first match of their season, the team won JJC, 3-2! Nice start to the season, and keep achieving greater heights in the rest of the season.
Harmonica
In their SYF today, HC’s Harmonica Ensemble brought home the one and ONLY gold award of the competition! Congratulations to HC Harmonica, and check back for a detailed competition report soon:)
Tennis
Also playing in the quarter finals today were the Tennis Boys and Girls. The Boys lost 2-3 to ACS(I) in a close fight, and certainly did not let their opponents have it easy. The Girls won convincingly 5-0 against SAJC. Well done! Both teams will be playing two more matches each on Wednesday and Friday, which will determine if they can continue on to the semis. Jiayou, and unleash the spark within you!
It is just the start of an exciting, and extremely crucial week for many CCAs as they enter the later stages of their respective competitions. Let’s rally behind our schoolmates, and give them our utmost support. HCunite!
