Hot Off The Press: Shooting, Netball, Basketball Boys and Girls, Soccer Girls and Softball Guys!

On the courts, our Netball girls trounced ACS(I) with an astounding 84-9 in the opening match of the season. This bodes well for the rest of the season and we’d like to wish you girls all the best! Also, the Basketball girls took out PJC with an impressive 71-7! Not disappointing us are the Basketball guys who overwhelmed NJC and went home triumphantly with a 77-22! Nice one, basketballers:)
At the field, our Softball guys played their hearts out and emerged victorious against ACS(I) with a score of 10-7!
Despite their excellent playing today, our Soccer girls unfortunately lost 0-4 to VJC. Don’t be disheartened girls and we are proud of you no matter what the score is!
The Shooting guys claimed the gold trophies for both the pistol and rifle categories in today’s competition!
Last year, the air pistol men’s team won college’s first ever medal in the event, but 3rd placing was certainly not enough. The months of intense training paid off. Yesterday, the team consisting of Sherman Lim of 10s7h, Dominic Cheong and Kenneth Lim of 11s7f and Mark Ong of 10s77, left the competition venues as champions, clinching the first pistol gold medal for college. Additionally, kenneth also came out as individual fourth. The joy for H does not end here, as the c division air rifle boys also emerged champions in their event earlier in the day, making it the fifth year they’ve kept the championship title. The shooting season goes on for one more day and we hope to hear more good news from HCSC!
