Post-blocks Syndrome
July 11th, 2010 by CCA PROYeah….we can proudly say that: WE’VE SURVIVED BLOCK TESTS!!! How ’bout a round of applause? Now that those days of revision from morning till night in the days leading up to blocks (or perhaps…not sleeping a wink the night before the paper because you were cramming?) are over, let’s take a look at what some students have been up to!
1. Post-blocks exercise
For so many of us, the items on the study table while studying include: stationary, a cup of water, notes, foolscap, and that half-eaten packet of chips/biscuits/sweets/anything not remotely healthy. Yes, binging is a common symptom of serious studying, which is why once blocks are over, many hit the gym to work off those added pounds. Running, swimming, basketball, football, tennis, squash. You name it, people have done it.
2. Movie marathons
Heard of anyone who watched 3 movies in the theatres in 3 days? Well, we have. After spending the holidays studying, the first thing many did was to hit the cinema. It seems Eclipse, Toy Story 3 and Knight & Day are so far the most popular choices! Whether they were worth your time (and money) is debatable, but the very feeling of sitting back and relaxing with your schoolmates and just enjoying the liberation and company – worthless.
3. The World Cup
We’ve almost come to the end of this season full of surprises, where underdogs shined, favourites disappointed, and where handballs were probably the foul of the season(suarez can go d**). Tomorrow is THE day. Paul says Spain; Mani says Netherlands. I say Torres :p La Furia Roja vs. Oranje: Who has YOUR support?
In any case, the end of the World Cup tomorrow morning would probably signal the real start of term 3 to many of us. So to all those who also screwed their BTs, better start studying now..wouldnt want it to be like the kid in the photo below, no?
